Andy Webb-Vidal

Andy Webb-Vidal has been the Venezuela correspondent for the Financial Times and various Jane's defence and security publications, such as Jane's Intelligence Review, since 2000, and the FT's Colombia correspondent since 2003. Over the past five years he has also operated as a business intelligence and security consultant, specialising in the Andean region of Latin America, for various private organisations. Before moving to Caracas six years ago, Andy worked as a commodities reporter for the Bloomberg news agency, covering the international oil markets out of London, and he was formerly sub-editor at Latin American Newsletters, also in London. He received a bachelor's degree with honours in Latin American Studies at Portsmouth University in the UK, and then gained a postgraduate master's degree in International Journalism at City University in London. He was born in London, England.
